NC State University Plant Disease and Insect Clinic
The Plant Disease and Insect Clinic at NC State University provides disease diagnostic and insect identification services to help growers produce healthy plants and crops. Extension specialists from Plant Pathology, Entomology, Horticultural Science, Crop Science and Soil Science diagnose problems on the samples received.
Plant parasitic nematodes are microscopic threadworms that can feed on plant roots. The NCDA Agronomic Division can assay soil samples for the presence of at least 46 different plant-parasitic nematodes.
Soil testing can provide detailed chemical soil analyses, site-specific fertilizer, and lime recommendations, while providing other important management information based on soil location and crop history.
